Tiger Trades Academy’s graduation rate credit completion rate and drop out rats are all in the Exceeds categories while attendance and truancy are in the approaching categories. Many of these student would not have completed the graduation requirements in a traditional setting. This could be a better indicator than the CMAS tests as this is refection on overall academic growth. The Edgenuity platform provides self-paced teacher led opportunities for students that don’t fit the traditional mold. TTA has been a taste of academic success that many students have not fully experienced in a traditional school setting. This is due to not only the Edgenuity platform but small class sizes and one on one teaching opportunities. This would have been better reflected in the CASAP scores however our ''student opt out rate'' was extremely high.
The Tiger Trades Academy W.O.R.K. Program continues to improve. Offering students opportunities in the construction and technology education. The W.O.R.K. (Workforce Opportunity Resource Kids) program will focus on real life skills such as customer service, basic plumbing, basic electrical, grounds keeping, custodial/maintenance, bookkeeping, and basic office skills. Students will have access to learning some of these skills at the TTA site and will also have the opportunity to apply the skills within the community and around the other school campuses as needed. Students will be graded on this portion based on a workforce rubric which would include attendance, quality of work, attitude, and overall performance. Upon completion, student will receive appropriate elective credit and a workforce certificate with the signature of the Superintendent. This certificate could be used with employers to show that the student has the basic work skills to function in a working environment.
